Greg was interested in everything and everyone. Some of his favorite sports teams were the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears, of and course the Fighting Illini football and basketball teams. He followed the Illini women's basketball and volleyball teams as well. Greg loved sports. He played Ultimate Frisbee when he could, basketball in the driveway, and all sorts of organized sports growing up. He loved the NCAA basketball tournament. We all had our picks, but Greg usually won all the pools. He had a keen memory for athletes and stats. Greg really enjoyed music. He had three binders full of music CD's as well as 500 songs on his computer. He listened to quite a variety of classical, jazz, rock, heavy metal, and artists like the Beatles, Billy Joel, Slide Hampton. Greg was a fan of  movies. Having majored in English and minored in Cinema studies, he enjoyed watching and reviewing movies. He attended the Roger Ebert Overlooked Film festival every year he was in Champaign. Greg was an avid reader. He was always reading one or two  or four books. He read best sellers, classics, books on Poker, travel, social issues.  Greg loved to go camping and hiking on family trips. He took several short out of town trips with friends. He was in the midst of making travel plans to Europe summer 2004 when he died.
